Yin yoga is a meditative, slow and passive practice, where we hold asanas(postures) for 3-5mins. Most of the postures are seated and or laying down, and we rarely stand or get off our mat. It applies moderate stress to connective tissues of the body, activating the circulatory system and increasing flexibility. We begin and end classes with a grounding meditation, where total relaxation is the goal. No experience needed to participate.
